Africa-Press – Eswatini. Deputy Prime Minister Thulisile Dladla has departed for Ghana to represent Their Majesties at the state funeral of Queen Asantehemaa Nana Konadu Yiadom III of the Ashanti Kingdom.

She jetted off today September 15,2025 via King Mswati III International Airport and addressed the media shortly before departure.

“His Majesty King Mswati III is sending us to Ghana, where he was just a month ago to strengthen the relationship between Eswatini and the Ashanti Kingdom. Sadly, the Ashanti nation has been struck by a dark cloud with the passing of their Queen Mother, who died at the age of 98,” she said.

Honouring a Respected Matriarch

The Queen Mother passed away on August 7, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of wisdom, loyalty, and cultural leadership. Installed as the 14th Asantehemaa in 2017, she faithfully served as a custodian of Ashanti traditions and a trusted advisor to her younger brother, the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

Strengthening Relations
