Nxumalo Faces Trouble Amid Mnisi'S Disrespect and Corruption

By Zweli Martin Dlamini

Africa-Press – Eswatini. Education Minister Owen Nxumalo recently went public and complained that, Principal Secretary(PS) Naniki Mnisi is disrespecting him and undermining his authority as a Cabinet and political head of the Ministry of Education.

Well, that’s what Naniki Mnisi is known for, she is always right and everyone is wrong, the PS has been abusing and/or bullying Government officials with impunity within the Ministry of Education and influencing their transfer “while bragging that she is connected to the Civil Service Commission(CSC) through Chairman lawyer Simanga Mamba and that, she is the Queen Mother Ntombi Tfwala’s close friend”.

As a result, if the Education Minister was not an elected Member of Parliament(MP) and a King’s Cabinet appointee, PS Naniki Mnisi could have long transferred or fired him, this woman is a serious problem and corrupt to the core.

Officials within the Ministry of Education are working in ‘hell’ within that Ministry, how do you verbally abuse civil servants, insulting and calling them while bragging that you can fire or transfer them anytime?.

Who are you in this country to abuse State workers as if you are paying their salaries, are these civil servants your maids or garden workers?.

Education Minister Owen Nxumalo must engage each and every civil servant within the Ministry of Education if he wants to understand what PS Naniki Mnisi is doing to the Government officials and, he will be shocked.

I am not worried about the PS undermining the Education Minister’s authority because I know Owen Nxumalo is a political appointee and cannot be removed by Naniki Mnisi or the CSC, instead Owen will deal decisively with the Principal Secretary.

But I am particularly concerned with the abuse of the Government workers who are being bullied by Naniki, we don’t want power-drunk corrupt bullies in this country who abuse those who are powerless and vulnerable.

Whether Principal Secretary Naniki Mnisi is connected to royalty through the Queen Mother, some of us don’t care, “LaTfwala Indlovukazi Ntombi Tfwala wendzile naye lapha eBukhosini” and I don’t think she could be thrilled to read that PS Naniki Mnisi is abusing Government officials and intimidating them in her name.

But even if the PS is linked to CSC Chairman Simanga Mamba, again, Naniki Mnisi must understand that Simanga Mamba takes orders from the King, if a need arise, she could be fired and the Government machinery will continue to operate as if nothing has happened.

Therefore, if the Principal Secretary is thretening or halting Government operations through her wayward conduct, she could be ‘thrown under the bus’ anytime, there’s no permanent friend in the game of power but, permanent interests.

Owen Nxumalo was elected by the people of Manzini South and subsequently appointed by the King, Naniki Mnisi does not feature anywhere in this political ladder chain that resulted to Nxumalo securing a Cabinet seat.

Naniki Mnisi has been transferred from one Ministry to the other, if the reason is not bullying or abusing civil servants, it’s stealing.

But it’s a pity because some of these women holding powerful positions like Naniki Mnisi and dating “Ben 10s” with stolen Government funds ought to conclude that, they can control and bully all men as they do to some of their young boyfriends.

Naniki Mnisi is allegedly dating a young soldier and other boys, some of these young men sometimes drive Government vehicles allocated to them by the Principal Secretary(PS).

So maybe and based on her experience in dating and bullying young men, the PS mistakenly thought the Education Minister could easily be bullied and/or be controlled as well.

But where do you start bullying a whole man like Education Minister Owen Nxumalo?
