Africa-Press – Eswatini. Just days after being dismissed for attending her own graduation, University of Eswatini (UNESWA) graduate Sebenele Dlamini has secured a new opportunity that could redefine her career.

On Tuesday, October 14,2025 , the Eswatini Observer ran a front-page headline: “Graduate fired for attending graduation. BSc Sebenele Dlamini claims Asian boss called her on graduation day and fired her.”

Today, Wednesday, October 15, 2025, the story makes headlines again after Sebenele’s former employer was legally ordered to compensate her for unfair dismissal within seven days, with businessman Lutfo Dlamini stepping in to assist. The story sparked national outrage, highlighting the struggles young professionals face when workplace rules clash with life milestones.

But as one door closed, another opened. Instacash, one of Eswatini’s leading fintech firms, has offered Sebenele a position in their IT Department, effective November 1, 2025.

Despite facing dismissal for attending her graduation, she showed perseverance and determination qualities we value. Her skills and qualifications will be a real asset to our IT department, helping drive innovation in digital finance here In Eswatini.”

Sebenele degree in Computer Science Education aligns perfectly with Instacash’s mission. “Our IT department focuses on digital finance operations, financial inclusion, and creating user-friendly technology solutions,” Dube said. “Sebe’s expertise supports these initiatives while also allowing us to merge technical skills with educational outreach.”
