Africa-Press – Eswatini. Eswatini’s four uniformed forces have jointly donated a 2025 yearly total of E240 000 to Philani Maswati Charity Organisation, in a show of solidarity and commitment to supporting the welfare of the elderly.
The funds, presented to Her Majesty the Indlovukazi, Patron of Philani Maswati, were handed over during the respective organisation’s annual commemorations held throughout the year. The contribution aims to assist in improving the living conditions of senior citizens across the Kingdom, in line with Philani Maswati’s mission to promote dignity and care for the elderly.
The Umbutfo Eswatini Defence Force (UEDF), His Majesty’s Correctional Services (HMCS), Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS), and the Eswatini National Fire, Rescue and Emergency Services (ENFRES) each donated E60 000, bringing the total to E240 000.
The UEDF made its donation during Army Day on 28 March 2025, held at the Defence Headquarters in Nokwane. His Majesty King Mswati III, who is also the UEDF Commander-in-Chief, graced the occasion, where he announced plans for nationwide recruitment of soldiers through all 59 tinkhundla centres — a process that is currently ongoing.
On 20 June 2025, HMCS presented its E60 000 contribution to Her Majesty during the Correctional Services Day at Matsapha Correctional Services College. The gesture was a token of appreciation to Their Majesties for their continued guidance and support.
The REPS followed suit on 15 August 2025, presenting E60 000 during the 22nd Police Day and Passing Out Parade at Matsapha Police Academy. The day also marked the 118th anniversary of the establishment of the police service — a milestone celebrated with pride and gratitude.
Finally, ENFRES completed the series of donations during the Eswatini National Fire Day held on 24 October 2025 at Matsapha International Airport, marking the Service’s 50th Anniversary.
Each donation was accompanied by a replica cheque, symbolising the collective commitment of the country’s disciplined forces to community service and national unity.
Through this combined contribution, the uniformed forces have reinforced their support for Philani Maswati’s ongoing efforts to uplift and care for the elderly — a cause close to Her Majesty’s heart.
As the nation celebrated these acts of generosity, the donations stood as a powerful reminder that service to the Kingdom extends beyond the call of duty, reaching into the lives of those who need it most.
