Africa-Press – Eswatini. Setting a new standard in giving, Luphohlo Commodities leads the 2025 RES Charity Golf Tournament with a record E100 000 sponsorship.

It is the largest in the tournament’s history. The two-day tournament began yesterday, November 7, and continues today, November 8, 2025 at Mananga Golf Club.

Emmanuel Nathi Van Zuydam, Managing Director of Luphohlo Commodities, told this publication “RES Corporation is one of our biggest clients in Eswatini. Supporting this tournament is a small token of appreciation. We also believe charitable events like this help boost tourism and create a prestigious platform that enhances the image of the country.”

The annual tournament attracted 27 companies through playing, cash donations, branded sponsorships, and watering holes offering refreshments. Other cash contributions included Amanzi Africa (E30 000), DMR Stainless Steel Suppliers (E20 000), and Swazi Bandag (E8 500).

Novelties and golf prizes were provided by companies including Elcor Industries, Rossi, Scotrotech, Morris Material Handling, Liberty Life & Stanlib, MCB Laboratories, Netafim, and DMR Stainless Steel.

Proceeds from the tournament have provided potable water in 13 communities, benefiting around 4 178 homesteads. Last year, Maphiveni Community received a solar-powered water system for 100 homesteads, while Shoka at Lomahasha had a borehole rehabilitated for 78 homesteads, projects valued at E310 000.

Since its inception in 2014 by RES Managing Director Mr Nick Jackson, the tournament has grown from a one-day event to a two-day fixture, creating a platform for suppliers to collaborate in corporate giving. Beyond golf, funds raised have assisted communities with shoes, wheelchairs, school uniforms, and anti-venom donations.

Phindile Dlamini, RES Corporate Social Investment Manager, said “Our prime objective is improving the lives of the less fortunate. Over the years, our funding has helped communities in water, shelter, education, and health initiatives.”
