Africa-Press – Eswatini. Fashion model and designer Sanele Muzi Shiba, widely known as Sugar, stole the spotlight with his breathtaking emerald ensemble, an artistic creation that shimmered with confidence and originality as he celebrated his achievement as an Associate Degree in Graphic Design graduate.
His striking look didn’t just turn heads; it set the tone for style, boldness, and self-expression at this year’s ceremony.
The Limkokwing University of Creative Technology 2025 graduation ceremony, held on November 12, 2025 at the Mavuso Trade and Exhibition Centre, brought together families, dignitaries, and a buzzing crowd to celebrate 1 014 graduates across various faculties. While the atmosphere was filled with cheers and triumph, Sugar’s entrance instantly became one of the ceremony’s most unforgettable highlights.
Dressed in a striking three-piece ensemble of rich emerald green, Sugar blended high-fashion elegance with bold personal expression. The metallic-finish fabric caught the sunlight with every movement, casting a luminous sheen that made the entire outfit appear almost sculptural. The fitted bodice featured defined shoulders and a cinched waist, creating a structured, commanding silhouette. This contrasted beautifully with the wide-leg trousers that flowed with each step, adding softness and grace to the otherwise sharp design. A crisp white shirt and tie grounded the look in tuxedo tradition, while matching green shoes and dark sunglasses delivered that final touch of confidence.
Designed and crafted by Sugar himself and valued at E500, the outfit was a fusion of inspiration and identity.
“The inspiration behind this outfit was the regular tuxedo,” Sugar shared. “But infused with who I am as a person. The three-piece suit I wore presents the perfect balance between my masculinity and femininity, the perfect balance between Sanele and Sugar.”
This striking duality, structured yet fluid, bold yet refined, embodied exactly who Sugar is: an artist unafraid to push boundaries and redefine fashion norms.
Reflecting on his creative journey, he credited his modelling background for shaping his approach to design.
“Through my journey as a model, I have seen various collections created by local designers and the style in which they design,” he said. “I believe that my fashion sense is quite different from the norms of society, and that encourages me to design clothes my way.”
As graduates posed for photos, embraced loved ones, and celebrated their achievements, Sugar’s emerald masterpiece remained the visual centrepiece of the day, a moment that truly encapsulated Limkokwing’s spirit of creativity, individuality, and fearless innovation.
