Africa-Press – Eswatini. Manzini Wanderers director Mlamuli Mabuza has reportedly stepped down from his position.

This follows calls from the National Supporters Committee to have the former Khubuta Member of Parliament relinquish the hot seat.

The Supporters Committee accused Mabuza of unfulfilled promises through their Chairman, Mthunzi Dlamini.

Mabuza had officially taken over the hot seat at the start of the current campaign.

A source close to the matter revealed the news to the Eswatini Daily news.

“Mabuza has stepped down, and he is in the process of handing over the Directorship,” the source said.

The club’s Public Relations Officer, Mongie Simelane, said he was yet to learn the news.

“I haven’t received any formal correspondence regarding the matter you are talking about. I can be in a better position to comment once I get something official from the directors,”he said.

Mabuza did not comment on the matter after his cellphone rang unanswered when compiling this report.

Mabuza was instrumental in the signing of three international players, such as Pius Baffour (Ghana), Sandile Mazibuko (South Africa), Mario Janine and Manuel Silima (both from Mozambique), among others.

Mabuza is set to be replaced by veteran administrator and current board member Sandile ‘ Chief’ Dlamini in the hot seat.

Mabuza leaves the team at position 14 in the MTN Premier League standings with five points after five matches following their 1-0win over Ubombo Sugar FC on Thursday at Mayaluka Stadium.

The ‘ Weslians ‘ goal was snatched by Silima in the first half.

Other MTN Premier League results saw Green Mamba play to a 2-all draw against Ezulwini United, while Royal Leopard were held to a goalless stalemate by newcomers Amawele.
