Africa-Press – Eswatini. The Ministry of Labour and Social Security has brought relief to thousands of students by confirming the successful disbursement of all November 2025 student allowances.
The payments, issued on 2 December 2025, benefit learners enrolled in local tertiary institutions under the Government Scholarship Programme.
In a reassuring update, the Ministry announced that it is continuing to process outstanding invoices for both new and continuing students. Officials, however, noted that intermittent network outages experienced on 30 October 2025 continue to affect certain online services, including aspects of the allowance processing system.
In a further positive development, the Ministry has extended the deadline for online applications for students wishing to study in SADC region institutions, specifically South Africa and Namibia, and for those admitted to UNESWA’s Mbabane Campus. Applicants now have until 12 December 2025 to complete their submissions.
According to the Ministry, the extension was necessary due to network disruptions that affected the scholarship online application platform. Despite the delays, students are encouraged to continue submitting applications through the official website, http://slas.gov.sz.
The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring smoother access to services, highlighting ongoing collaboration with the Ministry of Information Communication and Technology in resolving the technical challenges.
Principal Secretary S.M. Mndawe expressed appreciation for the patience shown by students and assured the nation that the government remains dedicated to supporting education and ensuring opportunities remain accessible.
