Africa-Press – Eswatini. The Mohammed VI Foundation of Africa, through OVLemca Eswatini, has launched a heartwarming housing support initiative, pledging to construct two homes for vulnerable members of the community.

Construction is set to begin during this year’s Ramadan celebrations on 17 February.

One house will be built in Mdzimba for Mfanfikile Dlamini, a resident living with epilepsy, while the second will be constructed in Lubulini for an elderly man whose home was damaged during recent heavy rains.

Sayeed Dlamini, Operations Manager at OVLemca Eswatini, said the initiative was inspired by conversations with the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, which helped identify beneficiaries in need. “We felt for Mfanfikile, as he is unable to work because of his seizures. We have been supporting him with food, but a home will make a lasting difference,” Dlamini said.

He also highlighted the second beneficiary, an elderly member of their church living alone, whose home had been compromised by heavy rains. “We were inspired by the DPM’s office and their dedication to helping those in need. This motivated us to take action,” he added.

The Deputy Prime Minister expressed heartfelt gratitude for the generosity of the Mohammed VI Foundation and praised the spirit of unity demonstrated through the initiative. She noted that one of the beneficiaries, a young man from LaMgabhi, is of a different religion, underscoring the commitment to inclusivity and compassion.

“Eswatini maintains strong relationships with all kingdoms around the world, as commanded by His Majesty King Mswati III,” the DPM said. She added that the foundation’s actions allow the community to enter Ramadan with clear hearts, knowing they have made a meaningful difference in the lives of others. “If it were up to me, all Christians would embrace the same spirit of giving when celebrating Good Friday,” she remarked.

This initiative reflects a growing culture of compassion and cross-community solidarity, providing vulnerable EmaSwati with hope, dignity, and a place to call home.
