Africa-Press – Eswatini. Local artist Sekwanele Mamba, popularly known in the music industry as Three Oclock Da Spitter, has reached a major milestone after being named Best Vocal Performer (Singer) at the 2025 Awaken Africa Talent Awards.

The Siphofaneni-born artist received a certificate of achievement and a trophy from Nelisa Awakening Africa, the organisation behind the awards. The Awaken Africa Talent Awards celebrate exceptional talent, dedication and outstanding performances across the continent, with a mission to empower artists and awaken Africa’s creative potential.

Expressing his excitement and gratitude, Mamba said the recognition had strengthened his belief in himself and his craft. He noted that although he still considers himself an upcoming artist, the award affirmed his growth and impact within the music industry. He also acknowledged previous recognition by Arterial Network Eswatini, where he was awarded for best songwriting and performance, describing the honours as life-changing.

Mamba’s journey has been marked by resilience and determination. He began his music career in 2016 while in Form Two as part of a group known as the Swazi Killer Boyz. However, financial challenges forced him to temporarily step away from music and seek employment in South Africa, where he worked in Giyani, Mpumalanga.

During this difficult period, he turned to content creation. A humorous and relatable video contrasting his struggles with his dreams went viral, helping him build a strong online following. His signature blanket, featured in many of his videos, quickly became a recognisable trademark among fans on TikTok and Facebook.

Specialising in Hip Hop and Afro Pop, Mamba said the award answered every doubt ever raised about his talent. He described the recognition as motivation to continue pushing boundaries and representing Eswatini on larger platforms.

Looking ahead, the artist has ambitious plans for 2026. He revealed that he is set to release a new single titled “Ngang’yahamba” on 6 February 2026, featuring Teddy, with future collaborations also in the pipeline.

His music, including the track “Litjalo Lami” featuring Ndlondlokazi, is available on YouTube. Produced by Kasi Kid in Siphofaneni, the song serves as a message of gratitude to God and his supporters for their continued encouragement.
