Africa-Press – Eswatini. The atmosphere at Mahlalekhukhwini House was one of disbelief and celebration as Siphiwo Nsibande was officially crowned the E50 000 grand prize winner for January in the MTN Fak’ivibe promotion, 9 February 2026.
Nsibande, who arrived at the MTN headquarters to collect his winnings, said he was completely unaware that he was even in the running for such a significant amount. “I am still shocked. I did not even know about the MTN promotion, I was just buying data,” he said. “I am not yet ready to say what I will do with the money. I do have plans, but I need to be careful, stay calm, and think wisely.”
Joining Nsibande in the winners’ circle were seven other subscribers, Mbongeni Simelane, Albert Afonso Manyika, Fezile Sikolethu Ginindza, Zinhle Samkelisiwe Sengwayo, Anele Valencia Dlamini, Tenina Nokuphila Mdluli, and Noncedo Prudence Nkambule, who each received E10 000. For the eight individuals, the rewards represented a powerful validation of their loyalty to the network.
Addressing the winners, MTN Eswatini Chief Executive Officer Jerry Soko said the event reflected the company’s deep appreciation for its customers. “Today is about making sure our customers feel seen, heard, and appreciated,” Soko said. “This win is not just about money; it is about MTN saying, ‘We see you. We value you.’ We share in your everyday moments, the late-night studying, the calls to loved ones, and the music that lifts your mood.”
As Nsibande and his fellow winners walked away with a collective E120 000, Soko reminded the public that the Fak’ivibe promotion is far from over. The competition continues until the end of March, with the CEO encouraging emaSwati to stay connected. “The next winner could be you, your friend, your sibling, or someone from your community,” he said.
