Africa-Press – Eswatini. Aspiring creators in Eswatini have been handed a major boost as the Eswatini National Council of Arts and Culture (ENCAC) rolls out a nationwide search for local talent.
This initiative is designed to help young musicians and poets from grassroots communities turn their artistic skills into professional careers by providing them with high-end tools and expert mentorship.
The first stage of this exciting project took place this past Saturday, February 7, 2026, at the Mkhiweni Constituency in Luve. The event brought together more than 15 talented musicians and poets who were eager to showcase their craft. For these local artists, the day represented a rare chance to secure a professional recording session at the newly established, state-of-the-art Manzini Arts Studio.
The performances at Mkhiweni were a vibrant display of creativity, with artists blending their cultural heritage with original, modern styles. Those who stood out during the auditions will now have the opportunity to move from performing in local spaces to recording in a world-class studio environment.
The talent search provided a valuable platform for the youth of Luve to express themselves and be heard. ENCAC has emphasized that the goal is to discover artists who have the drive and potential to make a real impact on the kingdom’s arts scene.
“The talent search served as a platform for local musicians and poets to demonstrate their creativity and passion. It also marked the launch of a new initiative to develop and promote young artists, providing them with the tools and exposure necessary to elevate their careers,” the council stated.
The opportunity goes beyond just a single recording session. The top artists selected from Mkhiweni will participate in a collaborative project at the Manzini Arts Studio, allowing them to build connections and work together as a community of emerging creators.
To ensure they are ready for the professional world, ENCAC is also providing them with industry guidance:
“The selected artists will also receive mentorship and support from experienced industry professionals, ensuring that their work reaches a broader audience and contributes to the growth of Eswatini’s cultural landscape.”
Following the success in Luve, ENCAC has confirmed that the talent search will continue to other constituencies across the country. By bringing these resources directly to rural communities, the council is making sure that every talented Liswati has a fair opportunity to succeed, regardless of their location.
As the search expands, it remains a vital bridge between raw grassroots talent and the professional creative industry.
