Army Commander Urges Discipline and Precision in UEDF Parade

Africa-Press – Eswatini. A strong spirit of patriotism and military excellence filled the air at the Nokwane Defence Headquarters as the Umbutfo Eswatini Defence Force (UEDF) conducted its final rehearsals on April 8, 2026. The parade grounds reflected discipline, focus, and determination as Lieutenant General Moses Mashikilisane Fakudze, Army Commander, addressed troops ahead of the highly anticipated main event.

The culmination of intensive preparation was evident in every formation and movement. The rehearsal served as a critical test of readiness for the nation’s protective force. Known for his hands-on leadership and commitment to professional standards, Fakudze stood before the men and women in uniform with a clear and resolute message.

Fakudze reminded the soldiers that the eyes of the nation — and particularly those of Their Majesties — would be upon them. In a firm but inspiring address, he urged the troops to summon their final reserves of strength and precision, emphasizing that the time for practice had passed and the moment for perfection had arrived.

His presence on the parade square underscored the importance of the occasion and the responsibility each soldier carries in representing the sovereignty and pride of the Kingdom.

“As these are the last rehearsals, Friday is our day; put more effort. It is our day. Hold where you are holding and put power. March in the soldier way, as we will be in front of Our Majesties. We pray for the weather,” Fakudze declared.

The troops responded with sharp, rhythmic precision — a hallmark of the UEDF’s discipline. Every step and rifle maneuver reflected renewed energy following Fakudze’s remarks. The “soldier way” was clearly visible in the synchronized movements of the contingents, demonstrating a force grounded in both ceremonial excellence and tactical readiness.

This year’s celebration is held under the theme “The Safety of the Nation is Our Priority.” Prior to returning to the barracks for these final drills, the UEDF conducted nationwide outreach programmes, providing essential services and strengthening relations with the civilian population.

As the rehearsal drew to a close, a sense of quiet confidence settled over Nokwane. Specialized performances — including the synchronized March Past and complex Drill Displays — were refined to near perfection. Fakudze’s prayer for favorable weather echoed the hopes of the entire nation ahead of the day of national pride.

With final instructions delivered and the last rehearsal completed, the Umbutfo Eswatini Defence Force stands ready to honor its tradition and duty. The force remains steadfast in its commitment to safeguarding the peace, stability, and sovereignty of the Kingdom of Eswatini.
