Africa-Press – Eswatini. His Majesty King Mswati III has urged men of the cloth to do an introspection individually in order to ascertain if they were still aligned to Godly principles or not.
The king was represented by Prince Hlangabeza at the Somhlolo Festival of Praise services held at Lobamba National Church yesterday.
The theme of the event was ‘Serving your generation’ based on Acts 13 verse 36 which reads thus: ‘for David after he had served his own generation by the will of God fell asleep, was buried with his fathers and saw corruption.’
His Majesty said the Christian leaders should do heart-searching in order to determine if they were still following the precepts and expectations of God.
“Each person must introspect to ascertain if they were still walking with God. Umfundisi ngamunye akatihlole sitfunti sakhe,” he stated. The King added that after King Somhlolo delivered the message from his vision of choosing the Bible over money, he had completed his race and clergymen were supposed to take the baton and run with it as they shepherd God’s flock.
Adding, the King reminded the church leaders not to lead the nation astray but according to God’s truth not what they thought.
He noted that churches were filled with people who were restless because of the noise in their heads.
He also wondered what had led to the current confusion now since 1836 when King Somhlolo shared his vision with the nation.
He said the people looked up to their leaders but no one knew who the pastors looked up to.
The King wondered how pastors would win lost souls when they could not do a self-introspection.
“None of you have sought audience with the King to raise their concerns about King Somhlolo II’s vision because people are adamant and stubborn. What do you feed those you lead if the truth is also far from you,” wondered the King.
In addition, the King said each individual must play their role and also know who they were.
He prayed that God opened people’s eyes and minds in order to reveal who Christ was in their lives.
He quoted the Bible when Jesus questioned his disciples who people said he was and who they considered him to be.
“Question yourselves as well as pastors, seek answers on who you are and who your source of information is. Jesus knew that a person’s mind is a spring or well of thoughts always. Our leaders are anointed and chosen by God.
“It is no sin to declare that you have nothing from God; instead, it is worse if as a man of God you lie about what God has said when he hasn’t. No one knows a person like their creator. May the nation continue to advise each other when necessary. Bayethe!” he concluded.
On behalf of the Prime Minister Cleopas Sipho Dlamini, Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs Pholile Shakantu encouraged everyone to do self-analysis of how they were serving the current generations for the next generation. She said no one should be a tourist and spectator in the world as everyone had a God-given purpose.
She said that would happen when people considered the next one important.
Minister of Home Affairs Princess Lindiwe appreciated the Somhlolo Festival of Praise organising team and everyone who made the services a success. She also appreciated the prayers that were made, which she said sent ministering angels to the four corners of the country that would overcome where and when needed.
“A strong country is one that is prayerful and has prayer as its pillar.
We also thank Their Majesties for their continued support in this endeavour; this is a praying alter for the whole nation,” she said.
