Africa-Press – Eswatini. Up to 10 aspiring young entrepreneurs could be granted a chance to receive free 12 months business mentorship. The programme initiated by Bertha Sithole, who has been working with young entrepreneurs for over three years, was through a realisation that some entrepreneurs struggle under pressure after successfully starting their businesses.

“The young entrepreneurs need to be hand held, or assigned a mentor or even get followed up to check the success of the new business. I have officially been doing youth trainings for business entrepreneurs for years so I have been a witness to failed good businesses,” said Sithole.

Sithole said the programme was open to Emaswati between the ages of 18 to 35, preferably living in Mbabane and surrounding areas. She said this was because most of the trainings sessions will be convened within the capital city.

“The business aspirants or anyone who has a side hustle must be able to travel to Mbabane at their own expense and dedicate the whole of 12 months.

We do not want employed people and education level does not apply in our programme,” Sithole explained. Business aspirants will be required to write a motivational letter explaining why they want to join the programme, state their personal and business goals as well as attach a Curriculum Vitae (CV) or profile with their educational history.

She said she would be looking for people with a passion to learn business. She added that aspiring entrepreneurs would work on achieving their dreams and be helped on how to structure their personal lives through personal development trainings and more.

“We will also have competitions on how to pitch business ideas, which will be tense.

This programme requires people that are mentally strong. We will also partner with successful business owners and organisations that will come in to assist us now and again,” explained Sithole.

Application letters can be sent to [email protected]. Sithole advised that if aspirants who have applied do not receive a response by January 30, they should consider their applications unsuccessful. Further, Sithole shared that the plan moving forward was to grow the numbers of entrepreneurs every year through the programme.
