38 Cooperatives Receive E57M in Projects from King

Africa-Press – Eswatini. His Majesty King Mswati III has handed over development projects worth more than E57 million to 38 cooperatives and small businesses in the Manzini Region.

The handover ceremony, held on 31 October 2025 at Kukhanyeni Inkhundla, featured the presentation of trucks, buses, kombis and tractors purchased through the Regional Development Fund (RDF). The initiative is part of ongoing national efforts to empower local enterprises, boost job creation, and strengthen community-based economic development.

Addressing beneficiaries, the King urged them to use the equipment responsibly and strategically, emphasising its potential to stimulate growth and long-term sustainability.

“These projects are not just equipment – they are tools to transform lives and inspire development,” he said.

The gesture reinforces government’s commitment to supporting grassroots entrepreneurship and ensuring that rural and peri-urban communities have access to practical resources for economic upliftment. His Majesty also highlighted the importance of proper management, cooperation, and vision in turning the investment into meaningful progress.

The ceremony ended with a symbolic message of renewed work ethic, signalling what the King described as the end of the “Black Bees” era – a call for hard work, efficiency, and productivity.

The E57 million allocation marks a significant milestone for Manzini cooperatives, providing them with the machinery and capacity needed to scale operations, create employment, and drive regional development. With the King’s encouragement, the beneficiaries now carry the responsibility of transforming the investment into tangible social and economic impact.
