Africa-Press – Eswatini. FIVE African countries being Ghana, Cameroon, Nigeria, Mozambique and South Africa, participated in the Buganu Festival this weekend as they showcased their different cultural dance routines before Their Majesties.

It was a celebration of unity and diversity from the energetic women as they all shared the dancing arena each time a foreign country performed.

Nigeria and Cameroon decided to differ as they presented a combined performance before His Majesty King Mswati III and the Indlovukazi.

These nations all gathered to celebrate their diverse cultures through their different traditional dances and songs in their respective languages. All five countries appeared in a variety of costumes which showcased the unique and vibrant cultures of the participating nations and it was a beautiful sight to behold.

The lead singer of the groups explained the lyrics of their songs which were loosely translated to ‘we are happy to be here to honour our king, to honour our mother, and they are going to live long. Let this land be blessed in Jesus’ name.’

Meanwhile, the groups from South Africa said they witnessed such cultural gatherings and explained that they always participated in Eswatini cultural events like the reed dance Ceremony. The women said such gatherings helped to promote understanding and appreciation for different cultures.

After their performance in the dance arena, the Nigerians also highlighted that the unique traditions of different countries helped to create a sense of unity and respect among the participants.

The nations also believe the festival is a chance for the countries to learn from each other and share ideas.

They said the festival helped to build bridges between countries and cultures.

Other African countries present were Democratic Republic of Congo and Zambia, as well as other tourists from Europe.
