Africa-Press – Eswatini. Regional Football Association (MRFA) Chairman Johannes ‘Ace’ Siboza says he wants to see more teams from Mankayane playing in the premier league.
The seasoned football administrator said this during Seven Dreams’ promotion celebrations at Mankayane Sports Ground on Saturday.
The Mankayane-based side recently got promotion to the elite league alongside Madlenya after being crowned MTN National First Division (NFD) leage champions to become the first team from Mankayane to play in the elite league.
Siboza said he was happy for the people of Mankayane after Seven Dreams became the 10th club from the region to play in the premier league.
“The teams’ presence in the elite league means a lot for the region and we are expecting more teams from Manzini to play in the premier league.
“ We are very proud of players such as Siboniso ‘Gaxa’ Ngwenya (Young Buffaloes) who hails from Mankayane. He is representing the area well in the premier league and also the national team. We are hoping more players will emerge from this area in the premier league,” he said.
He also appealed to the people of Mankayane to support Seven Dreams. “Let us all support the team since we all know how expensive it is to run a football club. Players should continue working hard and I believe Seven Dreams will consolidate its premier league status during its maiden season and represent Manzini well.
“I am proud of Bishop Bhekibandla Vilakati for his efforts to transform the team,” he said.
