AFROTIM CONSTRUCTION BEATS 10 OTHERS FOR OVER E9 MILLION TENDER

Africa-Press – Eswatini. Afrotim Construction has won a tender worth E9 999 792.20 from Eswatini Electricity Company (EEC) for the construction of Nhlangano depot staff houses.

The company scored 89.03 per cent to become the best-evaluated tenderer among the 11 evaluated, in an intention to award listed on the Eswatini Public Procurement Regulatory Agency (ESPPRA).

Other national projects undertaken by Afrotim include, but not limited to Buhleni Police Station, Trade Hub and Packhouses at Lavumisa, Nhlangano and Msahweni.

The competitors were J & E Construction (Swati), Roots Civils (Swati), Lilawu Construction (Swati), SLS-K Projects JV (Swati), Du-Van Developers (Swati), MCS Developers (Swati), Siphosabo Construction (Swati), ERG Construction (Swati), Ten Meter Projects (Swati) and NS Construction (Swati).

It was mentioned that the company was awarded the tender in terms of Section 45 of the Public Procurement Act No.7 of 2011(the Act), following a competitive bidding process. However, it must be noted that in terms of Section 45(2) of the Act, the above contract award decision does not constitute a contract.

Further, in terms of Section 45(4), 46 and 47 of the Act, all tenderers who submitted bids were hereby notified that a period of 10 working days was allowed for submission of any application for review from the date of first publication of the notice.
