Africa-Press – Eswatini. MANZINI Wanderers’ legal advisor Bongani ‘Bhanyaza’ Mdluli has replaced Sandile ‘Chief’ Dlamini in the Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) Board of Governors.
This comes after the shocking exit of long-serving Wanderers Director Sandile ‘Chief’ Dlamini after spending over 20 years at the helm of the crowd-pulling side and further served in the Board of governors.
Earlier on, it was reported that popular member of the special committee Steven Thwala would fill the void, working with two other directors, being Bheki Shongwe and Peter Mathaba.
Reports suggest that Mdluli’s name was submitted to the PLE recently following an agreement with Wanderers leadership. PLE Chief Executive Officer, Kenneth Makhanya confirmed the latest. “It’s true that Manzini Wanderers have submitted their new board of governor in Bongani ‘Bhanyaza’ Mdluli,” he said.
Meanwhile, the team’s Public Relations Officer Lucky ‘Majayivane’ Dlamini could not be reached for comment as his phone was out of the network.
Meanwhile, this will be the second time for Mdluli to serve as Board of Governor for the crowd pulling side.
He is also a former Premier League executive member during the era of former chairman Peter ‘Touch’ Magagula. The hub giants are going through a rough patch in the MTN Premier League, having played 10 matches with only one win.
The Terisayi Changara led-men are languishing at the bottom of the log standings with only five points.
They will host capital city giants, Mbabane Swallows on Saturday at Mavuso Sports Centre.
