Africa-Press – Eswatini. Mbabane Highlanders supporters have issued a series of demands to their South Africa-based Managing Director Chief Ally Kgomongwe, following a mass meeting held yesterday.

The National Supporters Committee (NSC) used the FIFA international break to deliberate on pressing issues within the ‘Bull’s kraal at a gathering at CODEC in Ezulwini. A list of demands, leaked to this publication as the journalist was not permitted to attend the meeting, revealed that the team’s loyalists were pleading for Kgomongwe to stop alleged interference with player selection. The journalist was asked to leave after officials made certain demands that could not be met. Another significant request from the fans was the reinforcement of the Dumsani Makhanya-led technical bench.

They have called for Kgomongwe to appoint a new coach to replace Makhanya. In recent days, fans have voiced their dissatisfaction with ‘DU’, criticising his alleged preferences in selecting his first team. Reports suggest that former Denver Sundowns coach Milton Dlamini may return to local football, having indicated a move back to South Africa, just before the FIFA break. Moreover, supporters are urging their director to welcome more businessmen into the leadership structure of the club. Kgomongwe, who holds 80 per cent of the team’s shares, with the remainder distributed among supporters and patrons, is the sole director of the city giants. Other considerations for the MD include allowing the management committee (MC) to fully run the club. He has also been petitioned to reconsider the Pretoria camps, as they were believed to be affecting the team’s performance. Highlanders usually attend camps in Pretoria ahead of the country’s major derbies and spend some pre-season time there as well.
