Africa-Press – Eswatini. Eswatini has taken another confident step toward a smarter and more efficient government, as the Ministry of Information, Communications and Technology introduced personal QR codes for senior leaders during the Cabinet Retreat held at Royal Villas in Ezulwini.
Minister of ICT Senator Savannah Maziya announced that the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister and Cabinet Ministers received personalised QR codes designed to function as digital business cards. The innovation allows leaders to instantly share their contact details electronically, eliminating the need for printed cards.
The initiative highlights government’s commitment to cost savings, convenience and environmental responsibility. By replacing traditional paper business cards with digital alternatives, the move reduces printing expenses while promoting modern, technology-driven communication.
The rollout also reflects the country’s growing digital transformation agenda, showcasing how technology continues to streamline government operations and improve efficiency at the highest levels of leadership.
The Cabinet Retreat provided an ideal platform for the introduction of the initiative, demonstrating how innovation is being integrated into everyday governance to drive progress and modernise public service.
