‘CHIEF’ FINALLY CALLS IT QUITS

Africa-Press – Eswatini. IT’S now official, Manzini Wanderers’ director Sandile ‘Chief’ Dlamini has left the club’s administrative structures after over 20 years at the helm.

Reliable information gathered is that Dlamini vacated office on Friday afternoon after submitting the club’s documents to the Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) where he was serving as their Board of Governors’ member.

He left the crowd pulling side together with Management Committee Chairman Mlungisi ‘Mluga’ Ndzinisa.

This means Bheki Shongwe and Peter Mathaba are the only remaining directors at the troubled maroon and white outfit. The crowd-pulling side is also in the process of submitting Special Committee Chairman Steven Thwala as their new PLE representative to replace ‘Chief’ in the board of governors.

This publication has it in good authority that former head of security Ncamiso Dlamini is now heading the new-look Management Committee (MC) expected to be unveiled soon.
Thwala was reluctant to comment on the developments in the team.

“I cannot say much about the transition phase. However, I can only confirm that Umlangeni (‘Chief’) has officially resigned from the club after submitting the relevant documents. He was not fired and that should be clear to the Wanderers family,” Thwala said. Dlamini declined to comment and referred queries to Ndzinisa.

Meanwhile, Ndzinisa confirmed that they had left the club with Dlamini.

“We have resigned from the team and are now working on the transition process with the remaining directors and they have promised to give me the candidates whom I will hand over the team documents to,” Ndzinisa said.

After what had been a dismal start to this season’s Premier League campaign, the ‘Weslians’ finally recorded their first point of the new season on Saturday after forcing a 2-2 draw against Manzini Sea Birds at the Prince of Wales Ground.

On the other hand, Wanderers are selling shares in a bid to lure new directors to the club. A total of 10 000 shares are available at E500 per share and if successfully sold, would guarantee them E5 million. This is money they aim to use to run the club every season.
