Africa-Press – Eswatini. Manqoba Khumalo, the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Trade has promised to work towards reviving the economy.
Speaking during the official opening of the 5th SACCO Indaba on Thursday, the Minister acknowledged that Swazis were indeed living in one of the most challenging times marred by economic challenges.
“As a a country as we are trying to recover the economy from the challenges that came with COVID-19. Government has noted that indeed SACCOs are making a great contribution to the economy.Indeed, we need a stable economy. This is possible through savings mobilisation, financing of members’ provident and productive needs.
The Minister said issue of properly appraising investments and liquidity management by SACCOs was key in helping SACCOs to be sustainable.
