Africa-Press – Eswatini. When King Mswati took over the Throne, he tried to introduce development funds and the R44million that subsequently established the now Eswatini Development Finance Corporation (FINCORP) is one of those funds.
FINCORP was King Mswati’s idea and he established this fund when he was only twenty-seven(27) years old with the intention of assisting emaSwati establish businesses.
A few years later, the King came-up with another idea of capacitating emaSwati with business skills and he established the R50million Capacity Building Fund that was later looted by those around him within a month.
Well, as previously mentioned, King Mswati once had the heart of emaSwati but those around him taught him a culture of stealing and a lavish lifestyle, his effort to develop this country was washed away by the corrupt conduct of his thieves.
But I am not portraying the King as a victim, he is complicit because as a Head of State, he had all the powers to discipline these thieves but, he opted to dine with them hence he must account.
The King was very angry after watching his R50million Capacity Building Fund that was established to assist emaSwati, looted but he couldn’t do anything because, the courts acquitted some of the alleged thieves.
King Mswati has his own weakness but, the alleged thieves hiding under his “emajobo” are more dangerous such that, one day they might consume him.
Criticising the King does not mean we will allow the thieves to hide under his emajobo, we know them, some like Sihle Dlamini are building Hotels as you read this article, of course, with corrupt money.
Now, the King has launched the “Nkwe” national development slogan but his thieves are eagerly waiting to see what they can loot.
I know emaSwati and investors who have been paying Sihle Dlamini, Khandlela Mdluli and others next to Mswati just to secure an appointment with the King, these thieves collect money or cows from people, even those who want to say “hi” to the King are made to pay.
Alleged thieves like Ludzidzini Council member Ncumbi Maziya are building Guest Houses, they are enriching themselves by stealing in the name of the King.
Attorney General(AG) Sifiso Mashampu Khumalo is one of the richest young men in the country, he generates corrupt money by grabbing and selling land from the poor at Ezulwini and, by concluding out of court settlements from litigants suing the eSwatini Government.
Even suppliers who took Government to court over unpaid invoices are now negotiating with the AG at a certain fee so that, he can recommend payment to the Treasury Department, Mashampu is now a rich civil servant.
It’s true that, the King has absolute powers and these powers are the source of all the corruption but, we must never turn a blind eye on these thieves and blame everything on King Mswati otherwise, we won’t eradicate corruption.
