Africa-Press – Eswatini. COSPE has opened an opportunity for a Project Manager to lead climate change adaptation initiatives in Eswatini, as the organisation strengthens support for communities facing environmental challenges.
The international non-governmental organisation, with over 40 years of experience in social justice, migration, and sustainable development, continues to work with local communities to build resilience against drought, land degradation, and food insecurity.
The successful candidate will plan, coordinate, and implement climate adaptation projects while leading a team advancing natural resource management, agroecology, and territorial planning.
The role places strong emphasis on climate justice and a human rights-based approach, ensuring programmes protect vulnerable communities and promote inclusive development.
COSPE is seeking a candidate with proven experience in project management, particularly in international cooperation, sustainable development, or related fields. Strong leadership and team coordination skills are essential.
Technical expertise in climate change adaptation, natural resource management, and territorial planning is required, along with knowledge of donor management and reporting procedures involving partners such as the European Union, the United States Agency for International Development, and the United Nations.
The role also requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as the candidate will work closely with local partners and stakeholders. Familiarity with Eswatini’s social and cultural context will be an added advantage.
Fluency in English is required, while knowledge of Siswati will be an added advantage.
The position is offered on a 12-month contract, including a three-month probation period, with the possibility of renewal.
