Africa-Press – Eswatini. Deputy Army Commander Commander three(3) star Lieutenant General Thembeni Magongo says she is aware of the Elangeni youth who are plotting to dethrone King Mswati.

The Deputy Army Commander who doubles as the Acting Chief of Elangeni was responding to questions from this Swaziland News after being asked why she allegedly locked a community hall and refused to allow other community members including the youth to use it.

“These complaints about denying community members access to the Hall are being pushed by a young man who is part of those who want to dethrone the King. Batsi bafuna kudzilita lobuKhosi. I have never denied anyone access to the Hall, but of course, like any structure, it must be managed, cleaned and those who want to use it must seek permission and explain what they want to do”, said the Acting Chief of Elangeni.

Speaking to this publication, Derrick Maphanga, a concerned Elangeni resident complained that they were denied access to the structure that rightfully belonged to people.

“The hall is only used for rentals by churches and also Bemanti during Incwala. It is inaccessible for the general community”, he said.

This was confirmed by Mbhambadane Bhembe, the constituency headman for Lobamba Inkhundla who said they were trying to resolve the matter.

“The matter is before us as Inkhundla and we are trying to solve the issue of ownership. It must belong to the public”, he said.

Mduduzi ‘Magawugawu’ Simelane , the President of the Swaziland Liberation

Movement (SWALIMO) observed that all communities had the same problem.

“Government systematically robbed our people of these structures. All communities have the same complaint about the halls hence the need for democracy in Swaziland”,said the SWALIMO President.
