Africa-Press – Eswatini. Government Spokesperson Alpheous Nxumalo was used by the Tinkhundla regime to ‘play dirty’ against the United States(US) after the US Embassy condemned the arrest of convicted pro-democracy Members of Parliament(MPs) Bacede Mabuza and Mthandeni, he accused America of supporting regime-change.
The US issued a very polite and diplomatic statement, urging the Government to ensure that, the MPs are afforded a fair trial, it was a genuine request as per the principles of natural justice.
But the eSwatini Government through Spokesperson Alpheous Nxumalo responded with arrogance, accusing the US of supporting those calling for democracy while undermining the Sovereignty of the country.
Now, if the Government used Nxumalo to act like a pig in the mud, as he always behave like one, using a hosepipe to clean the same pig and, position it to speak diplomacy amid the sudden change in the US trade and diplomatic policies under the President Donald Trump administration, will not work.
Alpheous Nxumalo is a suspected rapist who allegedly “undermines women rights and has been using his online platform systematically, calling for the killing of Police Union Secretary General Sergeant Dumsile Khumalo merely for demanding a salary increment on behalf of junior police officers.
Furthermore, Nxumalo urged the State to deal with Sergeant Dumsile Khumalo and then manage the consequences later, accusing the police officer of being linked to terrorists entities and pushing a regime-change agenda.
Government Spokesperson is part of an editorial team for almost all Government online platforms insulting those with different political views in this country, he even insults countries like China and once China reacts to the accusations from the Government through Nxumalo, he will then summersault like he did with the US and, call for diplomacy.
Perhaps let me state categorically that, you can take a pig to “kaZondwako” in the rural areas and, play dirty there and, the people will be happy to see a pig playing in the mud.
But, commissioning Alpheous Nxumalo to speak diplomacy is like taking the very same pig to Sandton Mall where decent people of middle and high class including Very Important People(VIPs) socialize under a more refreshing and secure environment, seeing a dirty pig in Sandton Mall would be a traumatic experience with a huge possibility to discourage customers and/or tourists.
It’s very unfortunate to note that, political hypocrisy is the modus operandi in this country, a whole Government Spokesperson plays dirty and then, try to be diplomatic depending on the political temperatures.
No wonder Nxumalo is a Reverend by the day and an alleged rapist by the night, his previous statements against the US was uncalled for.
We don’t want stupid pigs with a verbal diarrhea in this country, hell-bent to undermine the country’s relations with key diplomatic partners.
The concerns previously raised by the US regarding the arrest and subsequent conviction of the pro-democracy MPs and, ongoing violation of human rights in this country were genuine and must be taken in consideration and addressed.
But in conclusion, let me state that,if Government is planning to use a hosepipe to clean a pig so that, the pig can speak diplomacy, that strategy won’t work.
Even if Nxumalo can have his contract of employment renewed by Government, he is not in anyway, better positioned to speak diplomacy but, good in insulting those calling for democratic reforms.
We have credible people in this country under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other State Departments who can engage the US at diplomatic level particularly on the issue of the trade markets.
Government Spokesperson Alpheous Nxumalo as a pig, must continue to play dirty and leave diplomacy to credible people.
The Government Spokesperson has been attacking almost everyone, he even accused the South African Broadcasting Corporation(SABC) of supporting regime-change in the country merely for, interviewing those with different political views, diplomacy requires maturity not stupidity.
Public Relations Officers(PRO) always strive to create professional relationships and/or engagements with the media but, Government Spokesperson Alpheous Nxumalo believes he can blast even giant international media entities like SABC and then, use his insulting online platforms to set the record straight. He believes the international community ‘lihhoko lakugicika khona tingulube” and that his online platforms are taken seriously such he can even take-on the SABC through those platforms.
In as much as we are advocating for democracy, some of us don’t want to see this country destroyed by lunatics who undermine diplomatic relations even with key partners like the United States(US), live walibulala walifaka eludvongeni kulukhuni kuphindze ulikhiphe and, the poor will suffer and be subjected to economic hardship.
