Africa-Press – Eswatini. The Deputy Prime Minister Thulisile Dladla has recently addressed the nation as she prepared to depart for Brasília, Brazil.
There, she will represent His Majesty King Mswati III at the II Brazil-Africa Dialogue on Food Security, Fight Against Hunger and Rural Development which is a high-level forum aimed at forging strategic cooperation between Brazil and African nations on critical agricultural and sustainability issues.
Dladla expressed profound gratitude for the honour of carrying the mandate of His Majesty the King and the aspirations of all Emaswati to the global stage.
“It is with immense honour and deep appreciation that I stand before you today, entrusted by His Majesty King Mswati III, King and Ingwenyama of the Kingdom of Eswatini, to represent our nation,” she declared.
The invitation was extended personally to His Majesty by the President of the Republic of Brazil, His Excellency Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, which she said signaled Eswatini’s rising influence in global conversations on food systems, rural development, and sustainable agriculture.

The Deputy Prime Minister made it clear that her presence in Brasília is more than ceremonial but it is a mission to contribute to shaping a world where “no one goes hungry and rural communities thrive.”
She underlined the significance of the forum’s themes which are agriculture, nutrition, trade, and sustainable development, not just globally, but for Eswatini’s own national agenda.
These goals, she emphasized, align strongly with the African Union’s Agenda 2063 and the domestic priorities championed by His Majesty’s government.
Dladla made special mention of the Ministry of Agriculture, which she described as foundational to achieving food security.
“The Ministry plays a foundational role in advancing our goals of improved agricultural productivity, rural infrastructure development, and food system resilience,” she stated.
The Deputy Prime Minister further noted that the ministry’s leadership and expertise will be crucial in translating the dialogue’s outcomes into practical solutions for Eswatini’s rural population.
Dladla, as she embarks on this diplomatic mission said she looks forward to engaging in strategic dialogue on sustainable agriculture, fair trade, and innovation.
She will not only share Eswatini’s progress but also explore new partnerships and opportunities for South-South cooperation.
“This is both a privilege and a solemn responsibility,” she reflected. “I am grateful to His Majesty King Mswati III for this opportunity, and I extend my heartfelt request to all Emaswati to keep this mission in their prayers.”
Moreover, she added, “Together, and with the unwavering commitment of our institutions particularly the Ministry of Agriculture, we can build a future in which every citizen enjoys food security, food sovereignty, dignity, and opportunity.”
