Africa-Press – Eswatini. This best describes the partnership between giants Mbabane Swallows and giant catering company Eclipse. The latter has extended its sponsorship for Mbabane Swallows for another season. The company came on board in October, last year, when Swallows management announced that it secured a E125 000 season-long food supply. Eclipse Director Muzi Zwane confirmed the ‘renewals of the vows’ with the red and white outfit. The sponsorship involves supplying the team with food at the club house and at stadia during games.

Even though the figures involved in the partnership could not be immediately ascertained, independent calculations by this publications showed that the costs involved could rise up to E1 million. During the launch last year, Eclipse announced that it would provide good food to the players before and after games, as they boasted excellent dieticians. It was further disclosed that they would educate the players and management on how to take care of themselves. They further assist the players on food to eat when injured to speed up the recovery process. Swallows General Manager Sandile ‘Beyond 2000’ Zwane celebrated the latest developments, stressing that it was more than a sponsorship to them. “It is no longer a sponsorship but a partnership. We’re very excited about the support. We would like to encourage everyone in the football fraternity to fully embrace the Eclipse brand, as it has branches all over the country.

“We would like to thank the company directorship for the support and we’re hoping for a continued partnership,” he said.

Notably, Swallows ensured the Eclipse brand was visible during their events, including matches. The team fans flew large flags with Eclipse branding. Marshals also looked chic in Eclipse-branded T-shirts. Meanwhile, the support comes in handy in lessening the burden of running the team. It can cost up to E200 000 per month to run a team locally.
