EFA CONGRATULATES SWALLOWS, SIDVWASHINI FOR BEING CHAMPS

Africa-Press – Eswatini. The Eswatini Football Association (EFA) has paid a special tribute to MTN Premier League champions, Mbabane Swallows and MTN National First Division winners Seven Dreams (Sidvwashini United).

Swallows were crowned champions after finishing first ahead of 2022/ 23 champions Green Mamba and they secured a ticket to represent the country in the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League.

Seven Dreams who trade as Sidvwashini United were the winners in the MTN National First Division and they got promoted to the elite league.

According to a statement from EFA, they were proud of the success of the two teams.

“Also, a special tribute and momentous gratitude goes to the sponsors, MTN Eswatini for her investment towards the successful execution of the MTN Premier League and the MTN National First Division. The EFA will always remain indebted towards MTN Eswatini,” reads the statement.

EFA said the competitiveness of the other football teams in both leagues was very much recognized as there would not be any champions if the other teams were not competitive. “Further appreciation goes to the Government of the Kingdom of Eswatini for her support and guidance towards the development of sports in the country, Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) who executed a well-coordinated league from kick-off up to the last round of matches, match officials for managing the implementation of the matches, fans for supporting the football teams and enhancing the atmosphere at the stadiums and the media for promoting the league,” reads the statement.

EFA added that the collective effort by all the football stakeholders immensely contributed towards the successful implementation of the MTN Premier League for the 2023/2024 football season; thus, making football to be the ultimate champion.
