Africa-Press – Eswatini. The Elections and Boundaries Commission(EBC)failed to show up for the voter civic education exercise here at Hhohho Emuva Chiefdom amid resistance against the undemocratic Tinkhundla elections across the country.
On Tuesday morning,a similar event at Hosea Inkhundla was disrupted by residents, police responded by shooting Communist Party member Mvuselelo Mkhabela.
Mbonisi Bhembe,the EBC’s Communications Officer had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
On Saturday,Thandekile Simelane,the Hhohho Emuva Community Council (Bandlancane) member confirmed the matter.
“It’s true they didn’t show up as planned,but if you need more information get in touch with the royal kraal seniors”,she said.
Eswatini is facing a political crisis,Mswati is imposing his Tinkhundla undemocratic elections through the barrel of a gun.
On Friday, Member of Parliament(MP) Dumsani Mbhamali confirmed that police were deployed at Somntongo to shoot residents who disrupted a similar event by the EBC officials.
