Africa-Press – Eswatini. Green Mamba President and His Majesty’s Correctional Services Commissioner General Phindile Lamakhosini Dlamini says she has a good working relationship with head coach Ernest Mavuso.
Dlamini said she was happy with the former Moneni Pirates mentor, who has guided ‘Inyoka Eluhlazana’ to three trophies since joining the team from Mbabane Highlanders.
The ComGen’s feelings come shortly after Mavuso was said to be eyed by most elite league teams due to his success with the green and white ensemble.
Mavuso’s contract with Green Mamba expires at the end of next month and negotiations between the two parties have not started.
“Oh! I was not even aware that his contract was coming to an end, time flies.
I am happy with him but we have had small issues in the team which were later addressed and we are now reaping the fruits of his hard work.
Nothing has been discussed yet about his contract, we will let the nation know as soon as we meet as the team is now focusing on the league game.
But I am happy with the coach,” she said.
It has been established that the coach’s contract will end on May 31 alongside his trusted lieutenant Sandile Lulane, after he penned a two and half-year deal with the Correctional Services side in the 2021/22 mid-season.
He has won the coach of the year award and has won three titles with Green Mamba.
These are the 2022/2023 MTN Premier League, 2023 Trade Fair Cup and the 2023/24 Ingwenyama Cup, which they won on Sunday in front of His Majesty King Mswati III and other dignitaries.
They are number four on the log table with 35 points and they will face-off with army side Young Buffaloes in their next league outing this weekend.
