“As Emaswati, let us be alive to the reality that we are participating in a global interconnected world. As such, our ICT achievements are measured against the best in the world. As ESCCOM, we are humbled and encouraged by the achievements at a global stage. We remain resolute in partnering for the most impactful ICT projects under the Universal Access and Service Fund,” he said.

Captured at Ejendlovu High School, the image features His Majesty King Mswati interacting with Nothemba Dlamini, a young pupil from the rural school.

It has been reported that, the moment, set in a newly equipped digital learning environment, symbolizes the fusion of tradition, leadership, and technological empowerment.

The photograph, titled “Cultural heritage meets digital future: Leadership in ICT inclusiveness”, was submitted by ESCCOM and quickly gained traction both locally and internationally for its powerful visual storytelling.

The WSIS team praised it as “a powerful message of inclusive development,” capturing the essence of using ICTs to drive equity and opportunity, especially in rural settings.
