Africa-Press – Eswatini. The Eswatini Higher Education Council (ESHEC) has released its updated list of accredited higher education and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions for December 2025, providing important guidance to students, parents, guardians, employers and the wider public.
The updated list forms part of ESHEC’s ongoing commitment to safeguarding the quality, credibility, and integrity of higher education in the country. The Council emphasised that the list serves as a reliable reference point for learners seeking to make informed decisions about their academic futures, while also protecting them from enrolling in unaccredited or non-compliant institutions.
According to ESHEC, the list is continuously reviewed and updated to reflect changes in institutional status, accreditation outcomes, and regulatory compliance. This ensures that qualifications obtained from recognised institutions meet national and international academic standards.
Among the public higher education institutions recognised by ESHEC are the University of Eswatini (UNESWA), Matsapha Police Academy, William Pitcher Teacher Training College, Ngwane Teacher Training College, the Eswatini Institute of Management and Public Administration (EIMPA), and the Advanced School of Information Technology (ASIT). These institutions remain central to the country’s human capital development and public service training.
Government-funded institutions listed include the Eswatini Medical Christian University, Good Shepherd Catholic College of Health Sciences, the Institute of Development Management (IDM), Limkokwing University, and Southern African Nazarene University. These institutions continue to play a critical role in producing skilled graduates across various professional fields.
The list also features several private higher education institutions, such as Amadi University College, African Prime Institute of Science and Technology (APIST), Botho University Eswatini Campus, Bradford College, and the Institute of Research Management and Development, among others. In the Technical and Vocational Education and Training sector, accredited institutions include the Eswatini College of Technology, Gwamile Vocational and Commercial Training Institute, and the Eswatini Cooperative Development College, as well as several private training centres.
ESHEC urged prospective students, especially those awaiting examination results, to verify the accreditation status of institutions before enrolling. The Council also advised students planning to study abroad to confirm recognition of qualifications with relevant authorities in host countries.
Reaffirming its commitment to quality assurance, ESHEC encouraged all stakeholders to consult its official platforms for the most up-to-date information, reinforcing its message: Choose wisely. Choose accredited.
