Africa-Press – Eswatini. It was a night of warmth, celebration, and unity as His Majesty King Mswati III hosted a State Banquet in honour of visiting Zimbabwean President, H.E. Dr Emmerson Mnangagwa. The event, held last night, reaffirmed the deep bonds of friendship between the Kingdom of Eswatini and the Republic of Zimbabwe, while charting a shared path toward a prosperous Africa.

“Eswatini and Zimbabwe as sister nations share a vision for a prosperous Africa where our people thrive through self-reliance, cultural pride and sustainable development,” he declared.
Highlighting opportunities in agro-processing, manufacturing, and renewable energy, His Majesty emphasized that both countries, blessed with natural and human resources, stand to gain greatly from deeper collaboration.
Democracy Rooted in Tradition
His Majesty reflected on Eswatini’s unique system of governance, which empowers communities through the Tinkhundla model and open dialogue platforms such as the Sibaya People’s Parliament.
“Democracy must respect cultural context, be inclusive and foster peace,” he affirmed, noting that indigenous governance models continue to inspire resilience and unity across Africa.
Confronting Global Challenges Together
Both leaders acknowledged the pressing threat of climate change, which continues to affect Africa’s agricultural economies despite the continent’s minimal contribution to global emissions. His Majesty stressed the importance of standing together to find innovative solutions to secure livelihoods for future generations.
President Mnangagwa’s Tribute
In his response, President Mnangagwa praised Eswatini for its steadfast commitment to preserving African heritage.
“Undoubtedly, the Kingdom of Eswatini stands globally recognised for boldly maintaining its African culture, its heritage and its traditions. Congratulations,” he said warmly.
He further emphasized the historical and cultural ties between the two nations, describing their relationship as one rooted in the fraternal bonds of their forebearers.
