Africa-Press – Eswatini. The Eswatini National Archives and Records Service (ENARS) is set to welcome a distinguished delegation from the National Archives and Records Service of South Africa (NARSSA) for a vibrant Culture Exchange Program, taking place from 26 February 2026.
During their stay, the program will blend professional learning with recreation, fostering stronger cross border collaboration and cultural understanding between the two nations’ archival institutions.
On 26 February, staff will engage in a lively day of sporting activities, including aerobics, ladies’ and men’s soccer, and netball. “These activities are not only fun but also strengthen workplace bonds and encourage healthy lifestyles,” said Nqoba Msibi, Director of ENARS.
The following day, 27 February, will see a focused workshop from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the ENARS Lecture Theatre. The session aims to provide a platform for professional development, offering insights into best practices in archival management and the handling of both traditional and digital records. It is a rare opportunity for staff to exchange ideas with their South African counterparts and to gain exposure to innovative methods in records preservation and access.
Adding a rich cultural layer to the exchange, the visiting delegation will also participate in the Buganu Ceremony, an important Eswatini traditional ritual. This engagement will provide the South African visitors with a deeper appreciation of Eswatini’s cultural heritage, bridging archival knowledge with living traditions.
“This Culture Exchange Program underscores our commitment to fostering professional growth while celebrating our shared cultural heritage,” Director Msibi said. “We anticipate that the collaboration with NARSSA will inspire new initiatives and strengthen the ties between our institutions.”
The event highlights the growing importance of cross-border partnerships in the archival and records management sector, ensuring that knowledge, skills, and cultural values are shared for mutual benefit. Staff participation is expected to make the program a memorable and enriching experience for all involved.
