Eswatini Bank Board Chairperson Dumisani Mahlindza has issued a strong and straightforward call for unity among the country’s key institutions, reminding national leaders that Eswatini’s progress depends on working together. Speaking during a Business Gala Dinner attended by public- and private-sector leaders, Mahlindza explained that teamwork is the engine that will unlock sustainable economic growth.
Mahlindza explained that institutions, whether state-owned enterprises, regulators, or financial organisations, play a central role in shaping the nation’s economy. He stressed that when institutions are strong, transparent, efficient, and accountable, the entire country benefits. But he also cautioned that these values must be lived daily, not simply written in policy documents.
His message was simple and relatable: “Strong institutions build a strong country.”
Highlighting Eswatini Bank’s own progress, Mahlindza pointed to several innovations aimed at making banking easier for the public. These include:
– The Shasha Digital Wallet
– Agency banking services
– Ongoing IT modernisation
– Strengthened cybersecurity systems
These improvements, he said, show the Bank’s commitment to remaining a progressive financial partner that supports inclusive economic development.
Mahlindza noted that transformation is not just about technology, it also depends on trust, relationships, and collaboration across institutions.
The Board Chairperson stressed that no single institution can grow the economy alone. He encouraged all organisations represented at the event to align their efforts, share ideas, and embrace a common vision for the country.
“When Eswatini grows, we all grow,” Mahlindza reminded the audience, underscoring Eswatini Bank’s readiness to stand as a trusted partner in the nation’s development journey.
He also welcomed Dr. Mteto Nyati, Chairperson Eskom, describing him as a visionary whose leadership demonstrates that even tough challenges can be turned into opportunities through innovation and commitment.
