Africa-Press – Eswatini. The Eswatini Chevening Alumni Network is set to host its second in-person Chevening Scholarship information session on Saturday, 27 September 2025, at Royal Villas, with the support of the British High Commission in Eswatini. The session aims to guide aspiring leaders on how to access the prestigious UK government-funded scholarships and fellowships.

Chevening provides fully funded scholarships and fellowships to talented individuals with ideas and influence to create positive change. Funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and partner organisations, Chevening gives individuals the opportunity to live and study in the UK for one year, gaining the education, networks, and confidence to lead initiatives that benefit communities worldwide.

Sibongiseni Zondi, Communications Coordinator of the Eswatini Chevening Alumni Network, said the event seeks to bridge the information gap for local talent. “Many talented and driven emaSwati want to grow and would excel as Cheveners, but often lack guidance about the scholarship. This session ensures that more individuals can access this life-changing opportunity,” Zondi explained.

The upcoming session will provide participants with practical guidance on the Chevening application process, eligibility criteria, and tips for creating strong scholarship proposals. Attendees will also have the opportunity to network with Chevening alumni and hear first-hand how the programme has transformed careers and enabled alumni to make meaningful contributions to their communities.

The Eswatini Chevening Alumni Network continues to play a vital role in nurturing the next generation of leaders, ensuring that more young people can benefit from this globally recognised programme and return home to drive positive change in Eswatini and beyond.
