Africa-Press – Eswatini. The Eswatini Water Services Corporation (EWSC), working in partnership with The K3Y, has opened up its culture transformation journey to the public through a leadership and culture forum held on Friday, 3 October 2025, at Happy Valley Hotel.
The half day session, themed Unlock Culture: Insights into a Culture Journey, drew leaders from across industries to reflect on how culture, when deliberately embedded into strategy, can drive organisational performance. The platform combined dialogue, shared learning and reflection, positioning culture as one of the most critical yet often overlooked foundations of success.
Delivering the keynote, South African organisational behaviour specialist and leadership expert, Siphiwe Moyo, focused on organisational development and sustainability. He emphasised the need to align people, systems, and strategy to achieve performance that lasts. Many participants described his address as both practical and inspiring.
EWSC’s leadership used the event to share milestones from its ongoing culture journey. Managing Director, Jabulile Mashwama, explained how the Corporation has implemented systems to ensure that culture is not only a leadership discussion point but is practised across the organisation.
Supporting this, EWSC’s Director of Business Enablement and Corporate Affairs, Nomahlubi Matiwane, detailed management development as a breakthrough achievement.
“At EWSC, one of our biggest wins has been redefining management development. Partnering with The K3Y has allowed us to ensure our managers are not only effective, but growing in personal mastery too. This has been key in equipping our management to lead and sustain the culture transformation across the organisation,” she said.
The programme also included a panel discussion moderated by The K3Y CEO, Sian Louw. Panellists featured Bongiwe Hlophe, Head of People and Culture at Standard Bank Eswatini, and industrial relations and enterprise support consultant, Futhi Sibiya. The discussion centred on practical methods of embedding culture within workplaces.
Reflecting after the event, Managing Director Mashwama described Unlock Culture as both a showcase of EWSC’s journey and a space for wider conversations. “Unlock Culture was an opportunity to share EWSC’s culture journey and also provide a platform for dialogue on how organisations in Eswatini can be intentional about culture. The lessons and insights shared here will go a long way in strengthening leadership practices across industries,” she said.
The forum formed part of EWSC’s broader strategy to strengthen organisational performance by embedding culture directly into business systems and aligning it with corporate goals. The partnership with The K3Y has been central in ensuring culture is not only defined but actively lived within the Corporation.
