Africa-Press – Eswatini. Former Coca-Cola Eswatini Country Director, Sanele Khumalo, has been appointed as the new Head of Brand and Marketing at Standard Bank Eswatini.
The appointment, effective September 1, 2025, was officially announced by the Blue Bank on its social media platforms on Thursday, September 18, 2025.
In a statement, Standard Bank Eswatini expressed delight at welcoming Khumalo back into the fold, citing her extensive experience and proven leadership in both the banking and fast-moving consumer goods sectors.
“We are thrilled to have Sanele Khumalo rejoin the Standard Bank family. She brings with her a wealth of expertise and strong industry knowledge, having previously served in senior marketing positions within our institution before moving to Coca-Cola Eswatini,” the bank noted.
Khumalo has built an impressive career profile over the years. She most recently served as Country Director for Coca-Cola Eswatini, where she was responsible for steering the company’s local operations, overseeing strategic direction, and strengthening the brand’s market presence in the country. Before taking up that role, she had served as Head of Marketing at Coca-Cola Eswatini, leading campaigns that positioned the beverage giant as one of the most visible and customer-centric brands in the Kingdom.
Her appointment at Standard Bank Eswatini marks something of a homecoming, as Khumalo also previously served as Head of Marketing at the bank before her tenure in the beverage industry.
Colleagues in the financial and corporate sectors have lauded the appointment, pointing to Khumalo’s track record of innovative brand positioning, impactful marketing strategies, and leadership excellence.
Her return comes at a time when Standard Bank Eswatini is deepening its digital transformation drive, expanding customer-focused solutions, and reimagining its brand to resonate more strongly with both corporate and retail clients.
Industry analysts note that Khumalo’s cross-sector experience will be a key asset as the bank continues to strengthen its reputation as a trusted financial partner, while competing in an increasingly dynamic and digitally driven marketplace.
The appointment also highlights the growing influence of women in executive leadership positions across Eswatini’s banking and corporate sector, underscoring a shift toward inclusivity and diverse representation at decision-making levels.
With her extensive marketing background, Khumalo is expected to spearhead campaigns that reinforce Standard Bank Eswatini’s position as one of the country’s leading financial institutions, while also driving initiatives that strengthen the bank’s community engagement and corporate social investment.
Khumalo replaces Sibusile Dlamini, who has since joined FNB Eswatini as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), with effect from May 1, 2025.
