Former President Jacob Zuma wins again, court rules against ANC bid to stop uMkhonto weSizwe(MK) from using logo

Africa-Press – Eswatini. Former President Jacob Zuma has won again, after the ruling African National Congress(ANC) lost a legal battle to stop Zuma’s uMkhonto weSizwe(MK) political party from using its logo, reported on Monday.

This comes a few days after the MK Party won against the Independent Electoral Commission(IEC) that removed Zuma from the ballot box on the basis that, he “is an ex-convict”.

In the latest development ahead of the May 29th elections, the ANC claims ownership of the uMkhonto WeSizwe logo.

But Acting Judge Nicolette Beket dismissed the application on Monday in which the ANC sought an order compelling the MK Party to pay reasonable “royalties” or damages for its use of a logo, which it said resembled that of the ANC’s former armed wing, uMkhonto weSizwe.

It has been reported that, the ANC also wanted the MK Party to desist from using the logo.
