Africa-Press – Eswatini. Young professionals in Eswatini have been invited to apply for fully funded Master’s scholarships and internships in Japan under two prestigious international programmes.

The Government of Japan, working through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), has announced opportunities under the African Business Education Initiative for Youth (ABE Initiative – 13th Batch) and the SDGs Global Leader Program.

According to the announcement, the programmes are aimed at empowering emerging leaders from Africa to strengthen business and policy ties with Japan while gaining world-class education.

The ABE Initiative allows participants to pursue Master’s degrees at top Japanese universities while also gaining hands-on experience through internships. It is designed to equip scholars with the skills to accelerate industrial growth and create strong business linkages between Africa and Japan.

The SDGs Global Leader Program focuses more on policy and sustainable development. It is tailored for those seeking to tackle global challenges, enhance their policy expertise, and build long-term partnerships in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

What’s on offer

Both programmes are fully funded and cover tuition, living allowances, airfare, and other related costs. The scholarships are set to begin in 2026.

Who should apply

The scholarships are open to motivated young Swazi professionals who hold a bachelor’s degree, have relevant work experience, and are proficient in English. Full eligibility criteria are available in the application guidelines.

Application process and deadline

Interested applicants are required to submit their applications to the Ministry of Economic Planning and Development by 3 October 2025. The Ministry will then consolidate all applications and forward them to JICA by 10 October 2025.
