Africa-Press – Eswatini. Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini says His Majesty’s Government will upscale efforts to support arts to ensure that the youth can create decent and sustainable livelihoods.

This was said by the premier after watching the Ingwenyama Cup finals at Somhlolo National Stadium on Sunday.

The PM said he felt honoured to join Their Majesties and thousands of Emaswati for the memorable SMVAF Ingwenyama Cup finals at the national stadium,

“I urge all companies and private sector partners to join hands with us in supporting the development of sports, culture and the arts in our Kingdom,” he said.

During the launch of the MTN Bushfire Festival, the PM said music festivals hosted in the arts industry were an economic stimulator in Eswatini as they provided jobs and traders make a lot of money.

He said the festivals stood as an emblem of prosperity that can collectively achieve much for Emaswati by pulling the country’s resources, creativity and skills towards a common goal. He said as government they wanted to make sure people reached a stage where they could sustain themselves using the talents God gave them.

“I take this moment to congratulate all those who were crowned champions across football and culture categories today. I further commiserate all those who didn’t win. I also wish to thank all Emaswati who attended the finals for their good behaviour throughout the day.

“It is important that we also thank Sincephetelo MVA Fund, who continue to support this hugely important national tournament. I continue to urge more companies and private sector partners to join hands with us in supporting the development of sports, culture, and the arts in our kingdom,” said the premier.

The Ingwenyama Cup is a tournament that fused culture and sports.

Under the culture category, Senzo Dlamini was named the winner in the Timbongi sector; Nkwene and Mkhuzweni became victorious in the Lutsango and Ingadla categories respectively.
