GREEN Mamba secured 1-0 victory over Tambankulu Callies in the MTN Premier League match played at Ka Langa Stadium yesterday.
The Correctional Services side had to grind results against the stubborn Lubombo-based side.
Callies offered the first threat on goal in the ninth minute when Neliso Myeni’s effort missed the target.
The encounter was thereafter devoid of creativity as both sides couldn’t create goal-scoring chances.
The match went to the break on a goalless draw.
Most of the action in the second period was like warm, with the majority of the home side chances coming out from set pieces. Mxolisi Mkhonto’s free kick at the edge of the box hit the woodwork in 50 minutes.

Inyoka Eluhlazana kept peppering at Callies goal with the hope to double the lead. ‘Sikhali’s header was ruled offside two minutes from time by referee Leticia Vienna. The final score was 1-0 in favour of the hosts who are now fourth with 12 points.
