HIS MAJESTY THE KING CALLS FOR UNITY IN PRAYER, FASTING

Africa-Press – Eswatini. His Majesty King Mswati III has called upon the nation to stand united in prayer and fasting as the country faces trials and tribulations. He said this will help overcome many challenging and trying situations that the country was facing. The King was speaking during the end of year thanksgiving service held at Mandvulo Grand Hall at Lozitha yesterday.

The theme ‘God is our strength and defence’ was based on Exodus 15 verse 2 which reads thus,“the LORD is my strength and my defence; he has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will exalt him.”

The king also quoted the Scripture where Moses went to the mountain to pray joined by two others Hur and Aaron when the Israelites were under attack by Amalekites. He also stated that the two would lift Moses’ hand in support and the Israelites had an upper hand, whenever they got tired and Mose; hands went down the Israelites would lose to the Amalekites.

Hence as Emaswati nation, the king said they raised Halleluyah throughout the country regardless of what the nation was going through. “Let us therefore rise to pray in the mountains seeking God’s face, turning to him in unity. He will be with us, standing with us.

Of course, opportunists are always ready to strike when they see weaknesses. We need Emaswati who will act like the two men and support nowadays Moses. The Bible states that weeping may endure for the night but joy definitely comes in the morning, Our joy as a nation is coming but it needs people to stand united in prayer.

“God needs strong men to support leaders, having in mind that difficult times bring joy. He instructed Moses to put a certain plant in bitter water, which was turned into sweet water, likewise, the tests might not be nice and bitter like the water but we have to go through them to experience the sweetness,” he said,

The King noted that as individuals, people get tired and have enough but God doesn’t. He said just like a three legged pot, when one leg breaks everything spills because it doesn’t have all the support it needs. Therefore, it calls that at times people go to the mountains to pray so that they focus holistically on issues at hand.

He said the two knew that not supporting Moses would lead to the Israelites losing the war to the Amalekites. His Majesty stated that everyone has a God-given gift, saying the country will prosper if everyone used their gift for the benefit of the nation.

He said it didn’t matter what the armies on the ground do, what was important was what the people in the mountains were doing; they continued to pray to seek God’s face and intervention. “We need men and women who will pray seeking God’s will instead of blaming each other because God looks for people who will be in one accord, standing united to pray and fight the vicious Amalekites.

We should always choose rightly and choose faith instead of death. “Pray and fast to seek His face as we plead for forgiveness so that he will forgive us where we have wronged him. Let us be like the trio that prayed without ceasing supporting each other. Let us also not give up on God even when the answers are not instant,” added the King. Further, he said there was no mistake in God because he always had a purpose.

He acknowledged that at times hope will be lost but there will always be a way out because God is alive and He lives forever more. He said whatever problems the country faced they were not new because nothing new happens under the sun, that didn’t surprise God. He said some situations lead people to question God’s existence.

The King declared that the nations will always trust God and pray no matter what is happening. He said the nation will always call on God. “God has heard us today and it isn’t a mistake that we are gathered here. What is impossible with men is possible with God and He will make a way where there seems to be no way.

Let us get drunk and be high in his presence and He will protect us through difficult times. “As we end the year, let me emphasise on the importance of always humbling ourselves before God, kneeling down in prayer and God will hear us. “he answered King David, he will also hear your prayers and feel your prayers and take over.

You will come out victorious because the God of miracles would have intervened. The nation will be blessed, protected and all those who look into the country will see that,” he added.
