Africa-Press – Eswatini. “Allow me to commend the Governments of Botswana, Lesotho and ESwatini for the continued partnership which has not deteriorated over the years.

The Government of Eswatini is in full support of the tripartite arrangement as it has assisted in the transformation of our nations through production of competent and skilled personnel who in turn have contributed immensely to the development of their countries”.

These were remarks made by the Minister of Public Service Mabulala Maseko at the Institute of Development Management (IDM) 16th graduation ceremony held in Thaba Bosiu Cultural Village in Lesotho on November 25.

The Minister also congratulated the graduands and further called upon them to be agents of positive change by upholding the ethical values acquired from the institution.

CELEBRATION

The auspicious event saw the participation of graduands from the tripartite institution (Botswana, Lesotho and Eswatini). There were a total of 1 506 graduates on the day. Eswatini campus produced 190 graduates this year and 60 of them travelled to Lesotho for the colourful graduation ceremony.

REGIONAL DIRECTOR’s REMARKS

IDM Regional Director, Samkelo Lushaba applauded the parents and relatives who had made fruitful sacrifices towards the journey of the graduands. The regional director further informed the gathering you that the three campuses were building formidable networks that took the IDM brand to greater heights, a fact which was evinced by the attendance of the institution’s regional and international partners.

He acknowledged Institutions such as Ohio and Indiana Universities in the USA, University of Bolton in the UK, Galilee International Management Institute (Israel), Boitekanelo College; and Namibia Business School of the University of Namibia have assisted IDM to strengthen her research base, and also enable the institution to produce highly sought professionals in various disciplines.

“Our partnerships with professional bodies such as Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS), Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) and others continue to give us the strength to compete in the market” Lushaba said.

Mduduzi Masiko Dlamini, a graduate from Eswatini campus received a top performing student award (across the three campuses) and a regional director’s award respectively.

Dlamini was graduating for a Bachelor of Arts in Community Development.

Also among those who received awards was graduands representative, Bontle Mokgethi from Botswana campus who got a best student award. Mokgeti who also rendered a graduands representative speech, appreciated the opportunity to study at IDM and the partnership portrayed by the tripartite “we are the glue that, holds the three countries together,” Mokgete said.
