Africa-Press – Eswatini. Sicelo Mngomezulu, the lawyer representing incarcerated pro-democracy Members of Parliament(MPs) Bacede Mabuza and Mthandeni Dube led a high profile delegation within the Mass Democratic Movement(MDM) that went to Namibia to lobby Heads of State to take action against King Mswati’s oppressive Government.

Heads of State met in Namibia on Tuesday during the Southern African Development Community(SADC) Extraordinary Summit to deliberate on among others, the ongoing political crisis in this tiny Kingdom.

Eswatini is in the midst of a political crisis, dozens including human rights lawyer Thulani Maseko have been killed, allegedly by King Mswati’s forces since the political unrest erupted.

Mlungisi Makhanya, the President of the People’s United Democratic Movement(PUDEMO), Busie Mayisela of the Swazis First Democratic Front(SFDF), Wandile Dludlu(PUDEMO Secretary General) and PUDEMO\’s National Organizer Penuel Malinga were among those in the delegation of Swazi political leaders.

Sicelo Mngomezulu, the lawyer for the incarcerated pro-democracy MPs in Bacede Mabuza and Mthandeni Dube confirmed that a delegation went to attend the SADC Troika Summit in Namibia adding that while in that country, they interacted with various stakeholders.

“A delegation comprising, amongst others, the President of the People’s United Democratic Movement (PUDEMO ), the Swazis First Democratic Front (SFDF) representatives, representatives from International NGOs who support the struggle for democracy in eSwatini is in Namibia to attend the SADC Troika Summit. Whilst in Namibia this delegation will interact with various leaders and power brokers within the SADC Region with the aim of lobbying them to intensify the calls for dialogue in Swaziland and give practical support to the Mass Democratic Movement (MDM) in Swaziland,” said the lawyer.
