‘INTERPRETING BIBLE WRONGLY’?

Africa-Press – Eswatini. Being a Christian who is learning about the Bible, I believe there can be better answers to your questions and suspicions, as you call them. I would like to encourage Slow Minded for confessing that he knows God and believes He exists. The step you have taken is a giant one and as well as the best way to be free. The Bible says, in John 8:31-32: “If you continue in My word, then you are my disciples indeed; and you shall know the truth and the truth will set you free.”
Effort

However, the things of God are better understood in spirit and an effort to understand them in flesh would produce little positive results. The Bible says ‘God is a spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and truth’. Worship is a deep word, hence, to exercise it, you should first know what you want to worship. This is achievable better in spirit than in flesh. It is also true that the best way to know someone is through the individual, himself/herself. This also applies with God. He gives the best knowledge of Himself to man through the Holy Spirit.

On the origins of the Bible, it is regrettable to say that it is a revelation of the hidden secrets of the Kingdom of God, rather than just a Holy Book. It can also be referred to as God’s secret communication with human beings. We need to always seek revelations in the words we read or they won’t make much sense. There are many translations from the original Bible written in the language of Jesus Christ in an attempt to relay it in the native language. However, some agree that the older the version, the more accurate, and the more the versions you read, the better the understanding.

Jealous

With regard to God showing favouritism towards one race over others, well God is indeed a jealous God. Exodus 20:5-6 says: “Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; and showing mercy unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments.” When you choose to walk with God, you can gain when the worldly are losing! Because God will be illustrating through you, how beneficial it is to walk with Him. On sin and God’s forgiveness of it; it is a personal choice to be forgiven, including that of the beginning, on condition that you accept and believe that Jesus Christ died for you and that you must confess and turn away from all unrighteousness thoughts and acts.

Reminders

Lastly, concerning the disasters; nearly all these are reminders of the events that should unfold before the end of time. God will allow anything that might awaken us to His ways, to come to us. Nothing bad comes from God; He only allows the events to take place so that we realise that we need Him. God made a covenant with Noah (Genesis 9:11-16) and it still stands even today, because God has never again used floods to wipeout all flesh of the earth. When disasters happen, they should remind us that the end is near. The truth about disasters can be read in the Bible. May the God of peace be with us all.
