Africa-Press – Eswatini. The Ministry of Home Affairs might cancel the passports of some emaSwati who attended the recent Ireland “meet and greet” event organized by Mduduzi Magawugawu Simelane, the President of the Swaziland Liberation Movement(SWALIMO).
This comes after Mbabane East Member of Parliament(MP) Welcome Dlamini called for the cancellation of passports for all overseas based emaSwati including University students, opposing the ruling Tinkhundla undemocratic regime.
Government Spokesperson Alpheous Nxumalo declined to comment about the matter.
It is alleged that, the videos of the Ireland meeting were downloaded by the police and being analyzed by the State Intelligence Unit.
“They are using passports issued by the very same Government they are criticizing so, their passports must be cancelled,” said the MP.
Eswatini is ruled by King Mswati as an absolute Monarch, citizens are deprived State services including scholarships and passports merely for having different political views.
